'The Bachelor' Season Finale: Who Did Ben Choose?

Ben Flajnik has made his choice, and the final rose has been given to…Courtney Robertson.

Yes, the girl that everyone loves to hate has apparently won over the heart of the latest bachelor. The proposal was staged in the Matterhorn mountain of Switzerland, with Flajnik waiting for Robertson to arrive. When she did, it was clear she had "won" her man.

"What a journey," Flajnik began. "It's been an incredible road getting to this point with you. But I promised myself that I wouldn't get down on one knee again unless I was certain it was forever, and I want to tell you that you are my forever. You are my forever, and I have waited a really, really long time-a really, really long time to tell you that I'm in love with you more than you'll ever know."

"This who experience and journey has been worth it every step of the way. So with all that said, Courtney, will you marry me?" Flajnik got down on one knee for the proposal, as Robertson excitedly and nervously giggled.

As he put the Neil Lane diamond and platinum ring on her finger, Robertson finally managed to speak. "Oh my God. Yes, of course I will!" she exclaimed. "I love you so much. Oh my gosh, Ben. Beautiful. I love it. I will love you forever."

As the couple moved to embrace, Flajnik stated, "I will love you forever. I am so happy right now. You have no idea."

Flajnik may be happy with his choice, but overall, the public sentiment is that he should have chosen Lindzi Cox. "Taking Courtney over Lindzi? What a fool! They deserve each other, and Lindzi certainly deserves much better! I think the real winners are the lovely women who left earlier," commented Elroy Jetson, a Huff Post blogger.

User Clonar echoed similar thoughts. "Attention men: when 24 women warn you about 1 other woman, pay attention and believe them."

ABC's semi-reality show does not have a good record of successful matches. Out of 16 seasons, only a handful of contestants have ended up engaged, with less than that leading to marriage. Most of the couples have called off their engagements.

During "After the Rose," it was revealed that the couple has had a rocky journey since the engagement took place. Robertson has told audiences that Flajnik abandoned her during all the bad publicity, and he has admitted to doing so.

"I want to apologize to her, in front of everyone, for not standing by you throughout this entire journey...I messed up in that regard, as an engaged couple and as the man, I feel I should have stayed with you the entire way instead of taking steps back and taking time apart," he explained.

Flajnik and Robertson are still engaged as of the taping of "After the Rose," but no wedding date has been set.
