'The Notebook' Star Ryan Gosling Still With Eva Mendes

Ryan Gosling has not ended his relationship with Eva Mendes as recent reports had suggested Monday, and a spokesman insists that the pair are still happy.

Although recent reports had claimed that the 31-year-old "The Notebook" star was seeking time out from his short lived relationship with "Hitch" star, Eva Mendes, the couple is still an item, according to US Weekly Magazine.

The couple has been inseparable since developing their relationship in September after meeting on the set of "The Place Beyond The Pines," and are currently together in Thailand where Gosling is filming his latest film "Only God Forgives."

Mendes' spokesman quickly slammed reports that Gosling had recently traveled to Cape Town, South Africa where he was allegedly dating a blonde German model.

The Daily Mail had quoted an unidentified source claiming that Gosling left Thailand for South Africa without Mendes because the pair was allegedly having troubles.

"Ryan and Eva are having trouble seeing eye to eye. He was having dinner with a blonde model who said she was from Berlin. He tried to disguise himself with a woolly hat and scarf and seemed eager not to be noticed as they sat at a beach table, but he was clearly entranced by her," a source told Mail Online.

The source claimed that Gosling had abruptly left 38-year-old Mendes' side because he needed time "to think," which sources close to the pair have denied.

Although the spokesman says that Gosling and Mendes have not broken up, some sources suspect that it could simply be a ploy not to jeopardize the upcoming film "The Place Beyond The Pines," which is due for release later this year.

If the pair announces its split prior to the film's release, critics say that the news could affect public interest which would ultimately decrease its box office revenue.
