This week in Christian history: first Catholic parish; 9/11 memorial service; Disciples of Christ founder
Christianity is a faith with a long and detailed history, with numerous events of lasting significance occurring throughout the ages.
Each week brings the anniversaries of great milestones, horrid tragedies, amazing triumphs, telling tribulations, inspirational progress and everything in between.
Here are just a few things that happened this week, Sept. 8-14, in Church history. They include the birth of one of the founders of the Disciples of Christ denomination, the Washington National Cathedral holding a remembrance service for the victims of 9/11, and the forming of America’s first Roman Catholic parish.
