Tim Tebow is on the newest cover of GQ magazine. But what has at least one radio host agitated is a photo of the New York Jets quarterback posing as what he described as "sexy Jesus" inside the magazine.

Craig Carton of the "Boomer and Carton" show on WFAN accused Tebow of being a "fraud" based on the photo where Tebow has his arms stretched out and his legs crossed in a similar fashion to Jesus on the cross. The photo is among four featured in GQ's story, headlined "Have You Accepted Tim Tebow as Your QB and Sunday Savior?"

"A guy that fosters the Good Book, who is everyone's favorite Christian, to pose like Jesus on the cross with no shirt on sexy time is disgusting ... and fraudulent because nobody that believes in it would ever pose like Jesus," Carton said Tuesday morning on his show.

"Is that not sacrilegious?"

Tebow, former quarterback for the Denver Broncos, is an outspoken Christian who has electrified fans across the country for his openness about his faith. His practice of getting down on one knee to pray during football games has been dubbed "tebowing" and he has been invited to speak at various churches.

Tebow, who has more than 1.8 million Twitter followers, is celebrating his 25th birthday Tuesday and his fan base is pouring in birthday wishes.

"Thanks to everyone for all the great birthday wishes and prayers! Psalm 118:24. God bless and Go Jets!" the Heisman Trophy winner tweeted Tuesday.

Carton called Tebow the "biggest Bible thumper in all of sports today" and thus found it inappropriate for the quarterback to pose like "sexy Jesus."

Though featured in the newest issue of GQ magazine, the photo in question was taken earlier when Tebow was quarterback for the Florida Gators in college. Tebow, the son of missionaries, helped the Gators win two national championships during the 2006 and 2008 college football seasons. He won the Heisman Trophy in the 2007 season, becoming the first college sophomore to do so.
