Tim Tebow Trade a Mistake? Former NY Jets GM Says Trading for Player was the Wrong Move
The man responsible for bringing Tim Tebow to the New York Jets recently revealed that he now feels his decision was a mistake, but is confident that the former NFL quarterback will get a chance to play professional football.
Former Jets general manager Mike Tannenbaum said in addition to the Tebow trade the organization made other personnel decisions that did not pan out.
"Obviously we made a couple mistakes," Tannenbaum told CBS Sports Radio, "trading for Tim Tebow most notably."

The Jets Got Tebow from Denver in exchange for a fourth- and sixth-round pick in March 2012. Still the former GM is confident in Tebow's character and in his drive to succeed.
"I would never bet against Tim," Tannenbaum added. "We used to have an expression that Tim's the type of guy who's either going to be successful or die trying. His relentlessness and passion ... I would think he'll get another opportunity."
While still an NFL free agent Tebow recently signed a contract to become a college football analysis with ESPN. And Tebow's contract as an analyst for ESPN includes an opt-out clause that allows the athlete to leave the network should a team express interest in recruiting him.
The evangelical football player will be serving as an analyst for "SEC Nation," where he will travel to league campuses each week to host a Saturday morning pre-game show. While working as a network analyst, Tebow will also contribute to other ESPN sports programs, such as "SportsCenter" and ESPN Radio.
"I would love to continue to be someone that is positive but also be someone that is objective," Tebow said following the announcement of him joining ESPN.
"I have never had a hard time saying what I believe or standing up for something, and hopefully, I can continue to be that same person as an analyst and sharing what I believe about players, about teams, about games."
