Tim Tebow's Father Denies Reports That Son's Career Is Over

The father of former New York Jets quarterback Tim Tebow has denied rumors that his son's career is over, after reports came out claiming that the athlete's camp had admitted his time in the NFL had come to an end.

"You are old enough to not believe all you hear," Bob Tebow told NFL.com over the weekend.

Tebow has been looking for a new team ever since he was released from the Jets in April, and has largely kept his head down and stayed out of the spotlight. Various sports broadcasters have tried to predict if, when and for who he will play for next season, but as of yet no team has said it wants to take Tebow on board, especially in his preferred quarterback position.

A May 30th report by ESPN came out claiming that members of Tebow's camp had suggested that the popular Christian athlete's time in the NFL is "probably over," and described his career as "doomed."

"He's not a quarterback. When you look at his run two years ago, when you watch the tape and break it down, he wasn't really doing anything that impressive. He's a tough guy, a great leader, a great person. But he isn't a good enough quarterback to have all the distractions that come with him," one NFC scout reportedly said about why he has not been able to find a team yet.

Following Bob Tebow's remarks, however, NFL.com deducted that fans can rest assured that the athlete still believes there is a job for him out there, and he is trying to find it.

Tebow's only comment about his release so far remains the Bible verse he tweeted shortly after the Jets decided to let him go in April.

"Proverbs 3:5-6: Trust in the Lord with all your heart and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make your paths straight," the Christian athlete shared with fans.

An online poll on Bleacher Report of over 3,700 people shows that 60.8 percent of respondents believe that Tebow will play in the NFL again, while 39.2 percent think that he is "done for good."
