Tony Parker Sues NYC Club for $20M After Suffering From Chris Brown and Drake Melee

Tony Parker, 30-year-old San Antonio Spurs point guard, is suing W.I.P. nightclub for $20 million after he suffered an eye injury after a bottle-throwing incident took place between Chris Brown and Drake at the NYC club last week.

Parker filed papers in a Manhattan Supreme Court after suffering from "corneal laceration of the left eye and other injuries," according to court documents. Although the brawl reportedly started between the entourages of the singer and rapper Brown and Drake who were rumored to be fighting over Barbadian pop star Rihanna, Parker blamed the nightclub for being negligent in the hostile situation.

"The defendants were reckless, careless and negligent in permitting Drake's entourage and Brown's entourage to be in the club at the same time despite known tension between the two," the court document stated.

Parker's lawyer, David Jaroslawicz, noted that Rihanna may have been inadvertently involved in the ruckus that left the NBA star and others injured.

"She's been known, like Helen of Troy, to cause trouble," Jaroslawicz said about the Barbadian singer.

While Parker was not seated with either camp, he admitted that he had to take a few punches after sitting with his Brown, who he calls a friend.

"Me and my friends took some punches," Parker said in a New York Post report. "They started throwing bottles everywhere."

Although the French NBA player did not notice serious damage immediately after the incident, he said that his eye felt progressively worse after he returned to Paris to prepare for the Summer Olympics with the French team. After a trip to the emergency room, Parker was given therapeutic contact lenses and told that he could not play for a week.

"I'll be missing the start of the French team because I can't do anything for a week except keep the lens in and then take drops," he said.
