Transgender Navy SEAL: Chris Beck Now Wants to Be Called Kristin After 20 Years as a Navy SEAL (PHOTO)
A man has now said that he is transgender after previously serving as a Navy SEAL for 20 years.
Chris Beck, a former member of the elite U.S. Navy SEALS has now come out and said that he wants to change his sex, and now wants to be known as Kristin.
Beck is known to have fought for the SEALS in some of the most dangerous areas of the world. However, after leaving the SEALS Chris found himself dissatisfied with life and believed his gender was at the root of the problem.
Beck has now released a biography called "Warrior Princess" which was released at the weekend. Anne Speckhard, co-author of the book has said, "Chris really wanted to be a girl and felt that she was a girl and consolidated that identity very early on in childhood."
The book states: "For years Chris had turned off his sexuality like a light switch and lived as a warrior, consumed with the battle -- living basically asexual. For Chris the other SEALs were brothers and in the man's man warrior lifestyle, even if he had wanted to entertain sexual thoughts, there really was never any time to be thinking too much about sexuality."
Beck retired in 2011 and has now decided to undergo hormone therapy and plans in the future to have sexual reassignment surgery. He also now wears long hair and dresses as a woman.
