Trump Demands $5 Million from Bill Maher After 'Birther' Bet
Donald Trump says comedian Bill Maher should come good on his bet to pay Trump $5 million after he proved that he was not a "spawn of his mother having sex with an orangutan," an allegation Maher made during an appearance on late night television in light of the "birther" conspiracy.
Maher's bet was in response to repeated attempts by the real estate mogul to have President Obama prove that he is legally allowed to be president after rumors spread insisting the President was not born in America.
Trump, along with many others, were part of the "birther" movement, which cast doubts over Obama's birth and his legitimacy as President.

"I have a deal for the president. If Barack Obama opens up and gives his college records and applications and if he gives his passport applications and records I will give to a charity of his choice- inner-city children in Chicago, American Cancer Society, AIDS research, anything he wants- a check immediately for $5 million," Trump said before the election in a video posted on YouTube.
Both the President and Maher made light of his demands in separate appearances on "The Tonight Show" with Jay Leno. The President joked that he has known Trump since "we were growing up together in Kenya."
It seems now that Trump took Maher's bet made on late night television seriously and complied with the provisions of Maher's request to provide his birth certificate.
"Attached hereto is a copy of Mr. Trump's birth certificate, demonstrating that he is the son of Fred Trump, not an orangutan. Please remit the $5 million to Mr. Trump immediately and he will ensure that the money be donated to the following five charities in equal amounts: Hurricane Sandy Victims, The Police Athletic League, The American Cancer Society, The March of Dimes, and The Dana-Farber Cancer Institute," read a letter sent to Maher from Trump's attorney Scott Balber.
There is no word yet as to Maher plans to pay the $5 million.
