A former church employee is a suspect in the shooting that took place Wednesday at a Georgia megachurch.

Floyd Palmer, 52, has been named as a suspect in the breaking case, after a man walked into World Changers Church International Wednesday morning and opened fire.

Investigators are searching for Palmer, a Riveraldale resident who is also a former church employee who worked on church maintenance. One person has been pronounced dead in the shooting. According to Fulton County officials, the victim is a 39-year-old church volunteer. That person's name has not been released, but according to CNN, the man "was leading a prayer service for about 20 people at the church when he was shot."

Palmer is considered armed and dangerous; those who believe that have seen the suspect have been asked to call 911. He is believed to be driving a black Subaru station wagon with tinted windows. He was an employee for the church until August, the reason for his release was not mentioned.

According to witnesses, Palmer entered the church calmly, shot the victim, and left the building. It is uncertain whether or not Palmer knew the victim.

The church is led by Creflo Dollar, a well known pastor and televangelist who founded the church in 1981. He has stirred controversy in the past because in June, he was arrested for allegedly physically assaulting his 15 year-old daughter.

The church currently boasts about 30,000 members. The church has yet to make an official statement regarding the shooting.
