According to TMZ, fellow X-Factor judge and executive producer, Simon Cowell, was also disappointed in Abdul and Scherzinger’s judgment. Cowell, visibly angry after Ryniewicz’s elimination, comforted the 14-year-old contestant with a solemn appearance.

One fan took their anger even further on Twitter and said "@NicoleScherzy @paulaabdul go die."

“I don't feel anger against them,” Ryniewicz told the Hollywood Reporter after her elimination. “I could see that it was hard for them to base it off of the save me song but they both told me, ‘don’t even worry about it, you're coming right back. You're going to be on this stage again next year for the finale’,” said Ryniewicz.

Neither Abdul nor Scherzinger have publicly addressed the threats. According to sources from the X-Factor show, the two women are surprised by the viewer backlash.
