XBOX One Changes Could Close Gap Between Them & PS4

XBox One changes have been announced as Microsoft listened loud and clear to some of the backslash the console received at E3.

Microsoft originally had an interesting take on how they would approach used and online gaming and after out cry from fans on the new policies, they have announced a different direction for the console.

Initially the console would require constant Internet access and would only be playable without an Internet connection for 24 hours-- after that, the user will get locked out.

"After a one-time system set-up with a new Xbox One, you can play any disc based game without ever connecting online again. There is no 24 hour connection requirement and you can take your Xbox One anywhere you want and play your games, just like on Xbox 360," XBox released on their site.

Another thing Xbox One was going to do was give the game developer the power to stop customers from buying used games. The move made sense for developers and Microsoft, as both of them do not make profit off of used game sales.

Games were to be set up so that they can only be played by one or two users, as the game will register to their XBox. That means sharing games would not be possible unless a permanent switch is made.

Now, however, this policy has changed as well.

"There will be no limitations to using and sharing games, it will work just as it does today on Xbox 360," they wrote on their site.

These changes will also end one of the cooler features of the console, the ability to share games with up to 10 users on a special list. Also, gone is the ability to play any game without a disc, unless downloaded off of XBox Live.

"Downloaded titles cannot be shared or resold. Also, similar to today, playing disc based games will require that the disc be in the tray," they posted.

Perhaps the XBox One just closed the gap a bit between them and PS4.

What do you think of the change, good idea, or should they have stuck to their guns?
