The Ivory Coast international missed the 5-1 Boxing Day victory over Stoke after collecting his fifth booking of the season, but he is likely to go straight back into the starting line-up.

Pardew, who replaced Tiote with Hatem Ben Arfa against the Potters, is fortunate to have the ability to select form a full squad given he has no new injury concerns.

Despite the Magpies good form as of late Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger is sure to want to be atop the table heading into the New Year.

The club will be buoyed by the fact that they have enjoyed success at St. James' Park having gone 12 games without defeat, even if seven of those matches were draws.

Wenger does have some injury concerns ahead of the match after confirming Wales midfielder Aaron Ramsey will miss at least the rest of the Christmas period with a thigh injury picked up in the 3-1 win against West Ham on Boxing Day.

However, Jack Wilshere returns from suspension and Tomas Rosicky could return to the squad at St James' Park.

Center-back Laurent Koscielny could play after a cut knee, while Lukas Podolski will be hoping for a start having marked his return from injury with a goal at West Ham.

Yaya Sanogo, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Abou Diaby remain sidelined for a match Wenger hinted he would make several changes for.

Kick off for the match is at 8:30 a.m. ET and can be watched online here.
