Lea Michele Visits Cory Monteith Memorial at Hotel Where Actor Was Found Dead

In the wake of the death of Cory Monteith, his former girlfriend and co-star on "Glee," Lea Michele, made a trip to visit the hotel in Vancouver, British Columbia to pay respects at the site where Monteith was found dead.

The 26-year-old actress reportedly visited a makeshift memorial that had been set up outside the Fairmont Pacific Rim Hotel in Vancouver where Monteith was found dead after a drug overdose early on Saturday morning, according to RadarOnline.com.

"I saw Lea about an hour after the family saw the body at the hospital," eyewitness Rik Feydick told Radar Online. "There were two huge SUVs out front and Lea was in the back seat of one, sitting between two bodyguards. She was wearing her signature huge black shades."

"Lea never got out of the vehicle," Feydick revealed, but she stayed parked in front of the memorial for several minutes.

The news has shocked the entertainment industry with friends of the late star expressing their deepest sympathies. A representative for Monteith's co-star and girlfriend Lea Michele released a statement asking for privacy as she comes to terms with her loss.

"We ask that everyone kindly respect Lea's privacy during this devastating time," the statement read.

Monteith had been in his luxury hotel room with friends on Friday evening before heading out for the night. Lea, 26, is believed to have been at home in Los Angeles for work.

"She is absolutely hysterical and completely inconsolable," a source told HollywoodLife.com. "She is devastated beyond belief."

Monteith played Finn Hudson, the on-again, off-again love interest to Michele's Rachel Berry on the hit Fox series.

Michele previously voiced her support after Montieth voluntarily checked himself into a rehab facility in April.

"I love and support Cory and will stand by him through this," she told People magazine at the time. "I am grateful and proud that he made this decision."
