This series has swung back and forth non-stop, and on Sunday night the Giants completed the latest turnaround by claiming a second straight win to turn their 1-2 deficit to a 3-2 lead. That means they are now just one win away from the title, and have two bites at the apple to claim the win.

The Royals will be hoping that the series can continue the pattern it has been going. No team has been able to keep a lead in the series for more than the one game, with the Giants initially taking a 1-0 lead, only for the Royals to swing things back their way 2-1. The Giants of course turned that around and now return to Kansas City 3-2 up in the first-to-four series.

Tonight will see the young Yordano Ventura take on the more experienced Jake Peavy to see if the Royals can claw their way back into the series and take things to a winner takes all Game 7.

"Our guys aren't afraid of walking the tightrope without a net," manager Ned Yost has said ahead of the game. "We fall off, and we're dead. But we win Tuesday, nobody's got a net. It's going to be winner-take-all."

Historically teams playing at home when they are 2-3 down in a best of seven World Series 2-3-2 format, are just 13-16 all time. However, in more recent history, they've managed to win it in eight of the 10 most recent meetings.

The Royals will take hope from those stats, especially as the two most recent occurrences of that happening were in 2011 with the Cardinals, and in 1985 with the Royals themselves.

Looking closer at Game 6 in the World Series, only four road teams have won a Game 6 since 1980, and none since 2003. That means the Royals will be confident that they have a strong chance of leveling the series tonight and taking things to the full climax on Wednesday night.
