$99 Samsung Galaxy Tab: New Tablet Discount Available at AT&T Online Store
AT&T is offering a discount on its Samsung Galaxy Tab tablet; the device is currently available online for just $99.99 with a two-year contract.
The tablet has been marked down from its original retail price of $399.99 with a two-year contract and minimum $35 data plan. Without a contract, the Galaxy Tab retails for $549.99.
The discount is expected to be a limited time sale and is only available at AT&T's online store.

The Galaxy Tab features a 1 GHz Samsung Cortex A8 Hummingbird processor, 7-inch display, 3-megapixel-rear camera and 1.3 megapixel front camera, Android 2.3 Gingerbread, 16 GB internal memory, 13-hour battery life and Wi-Fi.
The $300 discount is reminiscent of the fire sale that dropped the price of the HP TouchPad down to just $99 from its original $499.
The TouchPad was quickly discontinued after its July release due to disappointing sales; however, the fire sale aided the tablet in becoming one of the most popular devices on the market.
Sources indicate that Samsung has reported positive sales for the Galaxy Tab since its November 2010 release. The Galaxy Tab has reportedly sold over 2 million devices as of January 2011.
Neither Samsung nor AT&T was available for comment.
Other tablet computers that have yielded disappointing sales have seen drops in prices to garner interest.
Manufacturer, Research in Motion also discounted its Blackberry PlayBook tablet up to 50 percent throughout the holiday season to promote sales. RIM insists that the PlayBook will not be discontinued and it may soon return to its original retail price at $499.
A number of tablets, including the TouchPad, Galaxy Tab and PlayBook, have received rave reviews; however, their large price tags have not been able to compete with Apple’s iPad, which dominates the tablet market.
