A Bond Built by the Badge: Officer Steps in for God and Does Something Amazing!
Resource officer Mike Gibson does something really touching for a boy he meets in an elementary school classroom that changes both of their lives forever. Once considered "unadoptable," the young boy now finds himself surrounded by people he loves and who love him back.
Before meeting Gibson, the boy had been in and out of eight foster homes. The two became fast friends when Gibson started working at the school. First, the boy started calling him officer, and then one day he accidentally called him dad. It really touched Gibson, who felt a call from the Lord to become a parent to a fourth child. Mike and his wife did what they could to become his parents, filling out extensive paperwork and legal forms. They already have three biological children, and wanted to make this boy feel special by adding him to their growing family.
