Amy Winehouse Dead at 27: Designs Coming Soon From Fred Perry?

Unheard album material is not the only work likely to be released following the death of English songwriter, Amy Winehouse – fans might also get her latest Fred Perry designs.

The singer had been working with Fred Perry, the British street fashion company on an array of design collections. In an interview with Harper’s Bazaar last October, Winehouse talked about her love for Fred Perry and how she knew exactly what she wanted from the design project.

She said, “I was so honored that they would even ask [me]. We’ve pretty much done up to autumn/winter 2012.”

When asked if she considered herself a style icon by Harper’s Bazaar, Winehouse responded, “No, of course not!”

However, the singer’s first collection would prove otherwise. The design series was fifties-inspired with pencil skirts, capri pants, and gingham. This, along with her Hawaiian-influenced Spring/Summer collection sold very well.

Since the 27-year-old was found dead in her London apartment on Saturday, much of her latest collection has been bought up.

It has been reported that since her death, the Fred Perry collection has sold out entirely on the company’s website.

According to the brand, it was great working with Winehouse during the “design and development of the collaboration.”

In a statement released today, the brand said: “Amy’s unique sense of style and attitude pervaded the entire collection. She was a pleasure to work with and will be deeply missed by the entire Fred Perry team.”

It is no surprise that fans are asking Fred Perry to release Winehouse’s latest collection – given the rush of interest in all things “Amy” since her death.

According to The Daily Mail, this is a sensitive matter for Fred Perry and nothing has been decided. The company said today, “Everything is on hold until we speak with Amy’s family and management.”
