The Galaxy Player 5.8 features the same resolution as Apple's current iPod Touch model and should be strong competitor for the world's most popular media device.

The device seems to closely resemble the Galaxy S3 smartphone in the same way that the iPod Touch resembles the iPhone.

Samsung released a 5-minute video that chronicles the company's thought process while creating the highly successfully handset last week.

It shows how Samsung decided on including a curved display, and how the company made it a little more sympathetic to the owner.

The Galaxy S3 was unveiled two months ago and has gone on to sell millions of units worldwide. Samsung advertised the smartphone as being "inspired by nature" during its initial unveiling and this new video showcases that.

The Android 4.1, JellyBean update for the Galaxy S3 will begin rolling out next week.

YouMobile.org has heard reports from Samsung confirming that the international version of the device will start receiving the update then.

The company is expected to announce it at its "Unpacked" 2012 media event scheduled to take place in Berlin on Aug. 29, which is next Wednesday.

Shortly after "Unpacked" takes place, the JellyBean 4.1.1 build will start rolling out for the all International Galaxy S3 models across the globe.

The U.S. version of the handset should also be receiving the JellyBean update in the near future. However, there have not been any announcements regarding the company rolling it out in the nation. YouMobile reported that it should arrive before October.
