At a Dec. 19 White House press briefing, White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre signaled that her boss, President of the United States and practicing Catholic Joe Biden, supported "Fiducia Supplicans."

In response to a reporter's question asking for the president's views on the development, Jean-Pierre stated, "The President, along with many Catholics around the world, welcomed the declaration from the Vatican, done with the approval of Pope Francis, that allows for the blessing of same-sex couples."

Jean-Pierre pointed to the declaration as "a Step in the Church ministry to the LGBT people."
