When the opportunity came to do a DLC, the team was very excited to get the chance to tell more of the story in the Human Revolution world. There were many questions unanswered, as well as mysterious things unexplained. Without simply answering and telling all, we found it very compelling to further the "lore" of the game, and take the chance to introduce new characters, which have a beneficial influence with the world of Deus Ex: Human Revolution.

Could you give a brief storyline explanation on "The Missing Link DLC?"

The Missing Link takes place roughly 2/3 into Human Revolution. As it happens, Jensen is smuggling himself into a Cargo Boat Container, hoping that the boat to lead him to answers about Sarif employees gone MIA. Unfortunately for Adam, the boat doesn’t go exactly where he’d hoped, and he is discovered by the crew, questioned and tortured. Through his misfortune, he encounters someone who helps him "escape" his fate. The player takes control of Adam at this moment, trying to escape from captivity in order to get back on track with his mission.

What new weapons and augmentation abilities should players expect from this added content?

We do not introduce new augmentations during The Missing Link, however the team made sure to push the envelope in terms of how to use them! Player are granted more opportunities to use combinations of augmentation for better results. As for weapons, we have a few surprises in The Missing Link. It was a good chance to "try new things", so we have a unique weapon in the game, which can influence the final fight, as well as a side mission that allows you to "build" a weapon. Both of these concepts were not really existent in Deus Ex: Human Revolution. Let’s see what happens.

A lot of gamers felt that the least favorable aspect of "Deus Ex: Human Revolution" was its boss fights. Does this new DLC do anything to change that and how so?

Indeed. We tried a new approach to the end of The Missing Link DLC. The "final fight" (let’s call it that) fully supports the main pillars of gameplay this time around. So there is a stealth approach, a combat approach and/or you can hack your way through. You can also do it non-lethally this time around, if so desired. It’s up to the player and there are consequences to how you approach everything.

Can gamers look forward to any new DLC for "Deux Ex: Human Revolution" after "The Missing Link" releases?

Right now we’re focused on the release of The Missing Link.

What do you hope fans of "Deus Ex: Human Revolution "take away from "The Missing Link DLC?"

The story evolves with new secrets revealed and more questions being brought to the table, all of which enriches the world of Deus Ex: Human Revolution. Gameplay techniques push new ground for the Deus Ex games-- trying new ways of supporting conversation, offering multiple ways to deal with events and introducing brand new environments. The overall feel of the DLC is that it fits perfectly within the Human Revolution experience. Ultimately, I hope players see this as a step forward and they enjoy it as much as we enjoyed making it. I am not kidding in saying the team behind The Missing Link had a blast making it.

Deus Ex: Human Revolution - The Missing Link is now available at a cost of 1200 Microsoft Points via the Xbox Live Marketplace (XBLM) for Xbox 360, and $14.99 on the PlayStation Network and Windows PC platforms.
