Galaxy S4-Like Galaxy Grand Announced by Samsung
The Galaxy S4-like Galaxy Grand smartphone was finally confirmed for release by Samsung this week.
The handset, like the rumored Galaxy S4, will feature a new body that will be accompanied by a 5-inch WVGA TFT LCD display.
However, the device is still categorized in the mid-to-low range for Samsung devices as it comes with specifications that are inferior to the flagship Galaxy Note and Galaxy S3.

Other specifications on the Galaxy Grand include a 2-megapixel front camera, 8-megapixel rear camera, a 1.2GHz dual-core processor, Bluetooth 4.0, and 1GB RAM.
The most interesting aspect about the Galaxy Grand is that Samsung will ship the device with dual-SIM capabilities. What this means is that owners of the smartphone will be able to use two separate phone numbers on it at the same time.
"For the dual SIM version, its innovative dual SIM feature provides total communication flexibility, allowing users to manage two phone numbers from a single phone," said Samsung. "It is possible to receive calls on one SIM number while taking a call from the other ensuring efficient management of personal and work commitments without ever missing a call."
This also helps out customers who would like to take advantage of different plans on different carriers. It gives them the ability to combine the best possible phone and data plans from different companies by allowing the user to have access to two separate SIMs.
The Galaxy Grand was first discovered at the FCC last month and was originally thought to be the Galaxy S4. However, upon further observation, tech analysts realized the specs were too low for it to be the successor to the flagship device.
Samsung did not provide any release date or pricing information on the Galaxy Grand, but it should be available sometime in the near future.
