iPhone 5 Release Rumors: Picture Leaked of Device's Battery
An image was posted to Weibo, a Chinese social networking site, that shows a battery which could possibly belong to the iPhone 5.
The back of the battery reads “A5,” which clearly indicates that the device it is powering is not an iPhone 4 since the 4’s chipset is an A4.
Another indicator that this battery differs from those used in Apple’s current products is that the image of the battery indicates that it will be a 1430 mAh battery, whereas the iPhone 4’s is a 1420 mAh battery.

The image does appear quite blurry and at this time the source of the picture has not been officially confirmed.
Tech website 9to5 Mac is skeptical of the image stating that the A5 logo “seems a little off” on its placement on the battery.
Apple is expected to unveil the new iPhone in just a few weeks.
The company has not officially confirmed any information regarding the device.
Rumors point to an early October release for the next generation iPhone, although some analysts are saying that consumers may not see it until sometime in 2012.
Two new iPhones are expected to be released including a newly designed iPhone 5, and a new version of the iPhone 4.
The iPhone 5 is rumored to be available on four of the U.S.’s major networks including AT&T, Verizon, Sprint and T-Mobile.
T-Mobile’s parent company Deutsche Mobile has already began taking pre-orders for the new device.
The iPhone 5 is expected to be thinner than the 4 and sport a larger screen to compete with Android powered devices.
Other analysts are predicting that the iPhone 5 will not be radically different in terms of design from the 4.
Instead, Apple will maintain the 4’s design while giving the device some new features, including an 8 megapixel camera which could shoot 1080p HD video.
