Shortly after the reports hit the internet on Tuesday, the "Waiting For Tonight" singer took to Twitter, defending herself.

"C'mon thought you knew me better than this…" the 43-year-old started. "Would never get anyone fired over an autograph. 1st I heard of this was on Twitter. #hurtful"

Earlier, the pop singer posted an uplifting quote: "Always do right. This will gratify some people and astonish the rest. ~Mark Twain."

Lopez's posts came after Pray Dodaj told a German newspaper that she had lost her job because she asked the singer for an autograph, reported ANI.

"I cleaned her floor. And I am an incredibly big fan so I took all my courage and rang the bell to get an autograph," Dodaj told Germany's Bild.

"But I was rejected by two assistants at the door," she continued of the incident at the Melia Dusseldorf Hotel. "A day later the cleaning company that employed me at the hotel called and said that Ms Lopez had complained."

"I was fired right there on the phone," she concluded. "Because of an autograph."

Director at the hotel Cyrus Heydarian cited that Dodaj lost her job because employees are not permitted to disturb guests.

"She has acted contrary to the contractual arrangements and disturbed the privacy of our guests," he said, according to ANI.

Meanwhile, J. Lo's production company, Nuyorican, has produced a pilot for a controversial new television series entitled "The Fosters." The show follows a diverse family of biological and adopted children being raised by a lesbian couple.

The singer also remains busy raising her twin children, Max and Emme, whom she shares with ex-husband Marc Anthony.
