Jennifer Hudson's Size Zero Sparks Mixed Reactions

After Joy Behar, co-host of The View, recently announced that she learned Grammy-award winning singer Jennifer Hudson is a size zero, the Internet has been abuzz with a multitude of reactions.

During her show, Behar gave her account of an encounter with Hudson while shopping for clothing.

"I was in a store shopping, looking for a dress and I suddenly say 'Oh there’s somebody I know' and it was Jennifer Hudson and she was shopping and she said 'I know you',” Behar told her audience last week. “Then I heard the sales girl say to her 'You're a size 0' and I said to Jennifer 'How does that feel?'”

According to Behar, Hudson acted as if the exchange was surreal.

“I feel like they're talking to someone else," Hudson reportedly told Behar.

After the story surfaced on the Internet recently, it received mixed reactions. Russell Simmons seemed to be pleased with Hudson’s physical transformation.

“Jennifer Hudson says she is a size zero,” Simmons tweeted on Friday. “Looks amazing.”

Actress and stunt woman Jwaundace Candece took to her twitter to question the affect that Hudson’s transformation may have on the youth.

“Is this a good standard for our kids,” Candece questioned last week. “No wonder eating disorders (are) rising"

Although some feel Hudson’s weight loss would spark an unhealthy initiative to follow suit for others, the singer and actress appeared on The Oprah Winfrey show last February to speak about losing weight the healthy way.

"I've cooked all my meals at home, when I work out I do what I like to do, I don't believe in overdoing myself," said Hudson. "It's all about self motivation because at the end of the day you can have all the money and all the personal trainers in the world, but if you don't have that mindset it's not possible... You have to do it for yourself."

After the varied reactions about her weight loss appeared across various platforms, Hudson took to her Twitter account on Tuesday.

"Why can’t you guys embrace my physical journey but accept all my other ones,” Hudson questioned. “This is clearly sensitive ground for some. I wonder why."
