Haven will join the couple’s three year old daughter, Honor Marie as an addition to the family.

Alba described her new daughter in the posting: “She was born on Saturday, weighed 7lbs, and was 19 inches long.”

The Facebook posting read: “Healthy and happy! Big Sister Honor couldn’t be more excited about the new addition to our family.”

The star didn’t forget to thank her fans for their encouragement.

“Thank you for all of your support during my pregnancy,” Alba wrote. “It means the world to me.”

Over 6,000 fans “liked” the news on Alba's page. She received a wealth of congratulations, some stemming from Finland, Scotland, Japan and Israel.

Ryan Williams was one of many fans to wish Alba well.

"Congratulations to you and Cash," Williams wrote on Alba's page. "Blessings to you and your family."

Although many congratulated Alba, others were excited about seeing new photographs of the family's new addition.

"Congratulations to you on your great addition," fan Ed Cohen posted on Alba's page. "Can't wait to see pics of the little one and her big sister."

The new mother, a Golden Globe award nominee for her work in the television series “Dark Angel,” will make her next big screen appearance this week. Alba will star in the newest installment of Spy Kids 4 which will be released on Aug. 19.

The actress said it was important for her to be involved in a project that her children could enjoy.

"I was definitely excited [about doing] a movie that my daughter can see, for sure. That definitely inspired me to do this movie in particular," Alba told Fox News. "But it's not like I only want to do family and kids movies from now on. It's just nice to have one that my daughter can watch."
