Justin Timberlake, Marcus Mumford Collaborate on Movie Track 'Inside Llewyn Davis'

Justin Timberlake and Marcus Mumford of Mumford & Sons have collaborated together on a new music that will debut as part of a soundtrack for the upcoming film "Inside Llewyn Davis."

Timberlake will appear in the film, directed by Ethan and Joel Coen, about a singer and songwriter living through New York's folk music scene during the 1960s. As part of the soundtrack for the film, Timberlake and Mumford have formed a musical collaboration. Timberlake confirmed the partnership in a recent interview while also admitting that it was an unexpected pairing.

"Marcus and myself, we all kind of worked on the music together and I don't know any other world where we would have the opportunity to collaborate like that but it was so much fun," he told U.K. radio station Capital FM.

Timberlake performed one of his latest songs, a collaboration with Jay-Z, on Sunday night at the Oscar Awards. While Mumford and Jay-Z may be on two different spectrums, Timberlake has stated that he and Mumford have become "good friends" while working on the film together and make good teammates too.

"So not only will that be a great movie," he told the station, "but the music to it will be fantastic."

The Coen brothers are well known film directors and producers. Other films that they are responsible for include "O Brother, Where Art Thou?" "No Country for Old Men," and "True Grit."

Timberlake added that he was "lucky enough to work with Oscar Isaac and Carey Mulligan," both of whom will also star in the film.
