Kim Kardashian recently announced that she will star in the biggest movie role in her career thus far.

“Big news,” Kardashian tweeted. “I'm so-starring in Tyler Perry's new movie."

The movie will be an adaptation of Perry’s 10th play that toured in 2008, The Hollywood Reporter stated. Jurnee Smollett will star alongside Kardashian as a marriage counselor who is bored with her own love life.

Smollett’s Ivy League-educated character will then have an extra-marital affair with a client, before realizing her mistake, Deadline.com reports. Kardashian will play Smollett’s co-worker, Ava, who attempts to help the counselor through her tough times.

Although Kardashian has appeared in the films Disaster Movie and Deep In The Valley, Perry’s film will be the biggest for the model and reality television star to date. The movie will begin filming Oct. 26, according to Deadline.com.

However, some took to Twitter to vent about Kardashian taking a leading role in a Perry movie.

“How does Kim Kardashian land a role in Tyler Perry's movie,” one person questioned. “I think I'm missing something."

Another person said they did not plan on supporting the film.

"I am really not concerned with Tyler Perry casting Kim Kardashian,” another person tweeted. “I don't plan on seeing this movie...next."

However, some showed support for the polarizing reality television figure.

“Kim is doing her thing it's a blessing,” Hiphopgamershow.com wrote. “The past is the past and Kim is on a mission. It's amazing and a blessing that she's living her dream."

Despite the criticism surrounding her new movie role and marriage, Kardashian celebrated her new venture and birthday with her husband, Kris Humphries, and family.
