Sway Reveals Thoughts on Being Berated by Kanye West
Sway Calloway, the Sirius XM host of radio show "Sway in the Morning," is revealing his thoughts about Kanye West after the rap mogul berated the reporter and producer on his own show.
Calloway, 43, insisted that he sees West as a little brother and revealed that he has no ill feelings toward the rap mogul after their heated exchange. When host Calloway asked West, the 36-year-old rapper currently embarking on his nationwide "Yeezus" tour, about doing things without corporate backing, the entertainer seemed to get upset and yelled at his interviewer.
However, Calloway said he has a good relationship with West.
"It seems to be public demand that I actually respond to an interview that I just did with Kanye West … For the record, I love Kanye West," Calloway said on MTV's Rap Fix Live. "That's my little brother."
West told Calloway that he didn't have answers to how the rap mogul could expand his brand without corporate backing amid his frustrations with the big corporate names.
"You ain't got the answers, man; you ain't got the answers," West told Calloway in a hostile manner. " I've been doing this more than you, you ain't got the answers!"
However, Calloway did not back down and told West that he thought they were friends while reminding him that he was not performing at an "f------ show." But the rap mogul explained his frustration to Calloway.
"You trying to give me advice on something -- you ain't got the answers," West insisted to Calloway. "You ain't spend $13 million of your own money trying to empower yourself."
Still, the rap mogul later apologized to his friend and interviewer. Calloway now says that he agrees with West.
"Everything that Kanye said, I think it's true," Calloway said on MTV's RapFix Live. "In fact, I believe in everything that he's tryna do and I think we all should listen to the message, that's in, everything that he said in that interview."
