Boycott Kim Kardashian Gaining Momentum

BoycottKim.com has ignited strong responses by shedding light on facts about Kim Kardashian and Kris Humphries’ wedding.

“Let Kim Kardashian know that her 15 minutes are long overdue,” boasted the website, which also highlights that her nuptials to Humphries in August resulted in $400,000 on champagne alone. The site compared that number to the over 21,000 children who suffer from hunger and poverty, adding that Kardashian “could have helped to save 14,285 children’s lives.”

The Kardashian family has come under fire as speculation over the legitimacy of the short-lived marriage between Kim and Humphries continues. The couple, who shared a highly publicized elaborate wedding, filed for divorce after just 72 days of marriage. Many people believe that the Kardashians staged the wedding for monetary gain and publicity.

As a result, the family’s reality television series may not be around much longer.

E! Network, which hosts “Keeping Up with the Kardashians” as well as the “Kourtney and Kim” series, is being urged to remove the family from their programming. The request was sent earlier this month via GoPetition.com where Cyndy Snider penned a public complaint against the “mostly staged” shows.

“We feel that their shows are mostly staged and place an emphasis on vanity, greed, promiscuity, vulgarity, and over-the-top conspicuous consumption,” wrote Jane Smith on behalf of the petition’s progress.

The petition has reached 105,530 signatures as of Thursday morning, and continues to attract followers. The Kardashian television shows are not the only product by the family meeting controversy and boycott. Many people have revoked their subscription from Kim’s website, ShowDazzle.com, and her role in Tyler Perry’s new film is being disputed.

Numerous people expressed their accordance with the petition’s request on the Facebook page for the petition.

“She is famous for nothing. Except for that sex tape,” wrote Facebook user Kara. “So is the media rewarding a glorified porn star with sponsorships and publicity? She’s a disgrace to society.”

Tiffany wrote, “Yes finally! I am glad to see Americans finally standing up against what happens in the media and reality television.”

“I have two daughters in elementary school. Enough said,” wrote Sean.
