Kim Kardashian Divorce: Humphries Refuses to Sign Papers

The highly publicized divorce between Kim Kardashian and Kris Humphries met another twist in the tale with a magazine reporting the basketball player is refusing to sign the divorce papers.

A close friend of Humphries shared with Life & Style magazine that Humphries would not sign the divorce papers, as he “does not believe in divorce.”

The NBA free agent said in a statement he is going to fight for the marriage, regardless of Kardashian’s insistence they remain separated.

"I love my wife and am devastated to learn she filed for divorce. I'm committed to this marriage and everything this covenant represents. I'm willing to do whatever it takes to make it work," declared Humphries.

The reality show star caused much controversy with her decision to file for divorce after only 72 days, with many claiming she makes a mockery of the marriage institution.

Joel Johnson, the pastor who married the duo, met with them face-to-face in Minnesota, where they talked about the issues troubling them and tried to find a possible solution. No recent news stories suggest Kardashian has changed her mind after the meeting.

Humphries’ refusal to sign the papers is likely to draw the divorce saga out and keep Kardashian in the top celebrity headlines for some time to come. Earlier, her ex-publicist claimed it is likely the entire marriage was a publicity stunt.

The reality show star is being accused from many sides that she is treating the marriage as a joke, and her actions and decisions stand in sharp contrast to her husband’s comments about remaining committed to the “covenant of marriage.”
