The “Kourtney and Kim Take New York” star started filming the movie Nov. 9 amidst a time of controversy in her life. Kardashian announced that she was ending her 72-day marriage to Kris Humphries earlier this month – igniting public scorn and accusations that the wedding was staged.

Another result of the split has seen outraged Tyler Perry fans writing their displeasure with Kardashian’s casting on his website. Kardashian will play Ava, the best friend of the film’s main character, played by Jurnee Smollett.

One fan wrote, “Personally, I am sick to death of her being glorified for nothing more than having sex on of camera.”

“She doesn’t need the money and she certainly doesn’t need any more attention,” the complaint continued. “And, although I still support you, I won’t be contributing one dime to anything with K. Kardashian in it.”

Another commentator wrote on the site; “I urge you to not cast Kim in your movie, ‘The Marriage Counselor.’ Kim Kardashian has no respect for the sacred institution of marriage and treats it as if it’s a joke.”

Despite many people’s anger, a studio source told THR that Kardashian remains “nothing but low-key and agreeable” while on the set, and confirmed that the actress’ safety has not been threatened.

In regards to Kardashian’s divorce, her soon-to-be ex-husband has finally hired a divorce attorney according to numerous reports. Humphries allegedly was hoping to make his marriage to Kardashian work, but has hired Minnesota attorney Lee Hutton to handle his impending divorce.

A source close to the couple told E! News that the divorce will be relatively straightforward, due to the prenuptial agreement involved. The insider added that Humphries “doesn’t want a war. He’s lying low.”
